Protrek is a hiking app designed with the safety of the user in mind. Our team noticed a gap in safety-based hiking apps. We did extensive research before starting the design, including surveys and interviews, user-journey maps, card sorting, and flowcharts. Our goal was to create an app that provides valuable information and resources for the hiker and keeps them safe on their travels.

What sets this hiking app apart from others is the ability to contact emergency services, share your location, create an emergency plan to be shared, and the ability to report and see real-time trail hazards.
